Emmanuel Jefferies is a big tall receiving tight end for Forrest Hill high school in Jackson, Mississippi that finished 2008 with 30 catches for 537 yards, and 7 touchdowns.
The 6'4 225 pound Jefferies is scheduled to visit the campus of ULM on January 9th to check out what the Warhawks have to offer. "Since ULM has offered, I have been doing some research on their college and football team", said Jefferies. I know they have a good football program.
"Coach Deke Adams is recruiting me, he tells me that I could be a great player for them. I know ULM is losing one of their best TE's in Zeek Zacharie. They throw the ball a lot to the tight ends, that is a plus for me".
Indeed the Warhawks are losing one of the best to ever play TE at ULM, but Jefferies has the size and speed (4.7/40) to fill that position.
"When I visit I want to see how the players react among each other and the coaches. I want to see who I will fit in with them". Playing early would be nice but I know I need to be mentally ready to play as well as physically at the college level.
Jefferies says that living in Jackson and being only a couple of hours from home is also a plus. "Actually I am from the Delta, MS area which is right by Vicksburg so I would be even closer to my family".
Emmanuel is holding offers from ULM, UCA, Alcorn State, Jackson State, Southeastern Louisiana, and recently Arkansas State has show interest. "I would say that ULM is ahead of everyone else right now".
Stay tuned to Warhawk Nation as we will try to get a post visit interview from Mr Jefferies to see just how his visit to the campus of ULM went.
