Payback For Warhawks Over Tenn-Tech

Backed by a career high 21pts and 6 blocked shots from sophomore Rudy Turner, the Warhawks win at home over Tennessee Tech 85-78. ULM avenges a 38 point road loss earlier in the season to the same Golden Eagles.

ULM got a much needed home victory over Tennessee Tech at Fant-Ewing Coliseum Monday night 85-78. With the win the Warhawks improve to 4-8 (1-1) but more importantly have momentum going back into conference play Wednesday night against UALR.

The Warhawks were lead by Lawrence Gilbert with 22 points followed by Turners career high 21. Dynile Forbes also turned in a career night with 18 points in 25 minutes of play.

ULM guard Kenneth Averette filled up the box score with 7 points, 7 assist, and 4 steals but struggled with 9 turnovers. As a team ULM turned the ball over 21 times but forced 23 on their own.

It was a good night shooting the ball for ULM as they connected on 50% of their shots from the floor and 48% from three point land. The Warhawks hit on 19/31 (61%) from the free throw line.

ULM also saw the return of senior shooting guard Tony Hooper as he came back from his suspension for violating team rules. In four minutes of action, Hooper scored one point, had one rebound, and one steal.
