Eunice running back Tyler Collins turned in another solid year rushing for right at 1,500 yards and scoring 14 touchdowns. The speedy scat back is hoping his on the field performance will translate into a scholarship at the college level where he can continue his career.
"I'm 5'6 and 180 pounds but I have a low physical running style that allows me to run inside or outside the tackles". For defenses in 2008, Collins was through the line of scrimmage and into the secondary before they knew it.
As for his recruitment so far, Tyler says several schools stay in contact with him. "ULM, Baylor, and Rice are three schools that I have been talking to. I haven't set up any visits yet but I am working on that right now".
"I am looking for a good education in kinesiology or computer science. I also want to check out the area and how the football program has been doing, how many running backs they have on the roster and who they are recruiting. I am looking for some early playing time".
