Shane Ardoin, a 6'1 southpaw from Ville Platte Louisiana has transferred from the LSU Tigers to the ULM Warhawks. Ardoin will take a red shirt in 2009 and have two years of eligibility left.

The 2008 Sun Belt Champion ULM Warhawks just added another bullet to their arsenal as they welcome 6'1 southpaw Shane Ardoin, a transfer from the LSU Tigers.

"LSU has a great baseball program and I appreciate my time at LSU but for me I felt I could get more out of my career at ULM. At LSU I was just used as a spot pitcher and I feel like I have a lot more to offer".

According to LSUsports.net the official website for the LSU Tigers, Ardoin appeared in 11 games as a Freshman posting a 5.93 ERA with 9 walks and 17 strikeouts. Opponents batted just .193 against Shane in 2008.

Ardoin prepped at Sacred Heart high school where he was a All-state and All-district selection as a pitcher and center fielder. Shane was named All-district MVP as a sophomore in 2004 and was named All-parish MVP as a senior in 2006. During his Junior and Senior season Shane posted a career 17-2 record. In 133 innings pitched, Ardoin struck out 206, walked 52 and had an ERA below 1.00

"Coach Shake recruited me out of high school and one of the last things he told me was if I ever needed anything or changed my mind to give him a call"."

Ardoin has two primary pitches that he throws, a fastball and curve ball. "My curve ball is my #1 pitch, I throw my fastball in the mid 80's. I am excited to come to ULM. They have a great program and I look forward to helping them win more championships.

Shane is already enrolled at ULM and will look to earn a degree in business.
