Cecilia Back Down To 2 Schools

Cecilia high school running back Marcus Witlz has narrowed his college choices to the ULM Warhawks and the McNeese State Cowboys.

According to Cecilia head coach Terry Martin, running back Marcus Wiltz has narrowed his college choices down to 2 schools. "ULM and McNeese are his top two right now. UL-Lafayette was also highly recruiting him but he wants to get away from home".

Wiltz has an impressive resume to say the least. 2007 1st team All State as a running back and in 2008 was named to the All State team as a linebacker. "Colleges are recruiting him at running back", said Martin. He had well over 1,500 yards as a Junior; in 2008 I was able to rest him early in the season.

The strategy paid off and Marcus was unstoppable in the 2008 playoffs. Wiltz rushed for 609 yards in four playoff games and went over 200 yards in the fourth round against the states best defense Destrahan.

"Marcus has very good speed", said Coach Martin. We clocked him at 4.47 and at the ULM camp they had him at 4.49. He is not just a scat back either, Marcus is physical, he can run the inside the tackles".

Wiltz best attributes are his cutback ability and vision. "He has good hands too, we didn't throw him the ball as much this year because he played with a cast on his hand the first five games of the season".

Marcus is torn between ULM and McNeese. He feels comfortable with the staff at McNeese and also Coach Jonas up at ULM. I would say he is probably a small lean to McNeese right now but he still hasn't taken his official visits".
