ULM Looks To Finish Strong

Defense will again be the focus for the Warhawks this weekend; three more from the defensive side and one on the offensive side will trip to the campus of ULM.

Tripping to the campus of the ULM Warhawks this weekend are defensive prospects Alex Smith, Christopher Knighton, and Russell Bonner.

Smith has been a soft commitment to the Southern Mississippi Eagles since the summer but has shown increased interest in the ULM Warhawks ever since. Alex will take one final look at ULM this weekend and decide on the two schools.

Knighton is a highly touted 6'3 240 pound DE from Longview Texas. Chris has several schools trying to land his services and hopes a visit to ULM will clear the picture for him. According to a recent article on BleedTechBlue, Knighton holds offers from ULL, Louisiana Tech, and ULM, while UTEP has shown strong interest as well.

The Warhawks will try their luck again in the state of Georgia when Sandy Creek safety Russell Bonner makes the trek to visit the ULM campus. Bonner holds an offer from Buffalo but is exploring his options.

The lone offensive prospect on campus will be Tyler Junior College offensive tackle Fonda White. If White 6'3 285, does receive an offer and commits to ULM, he will be only the second offensive lineman in the 2009 class for the Warhawks.

ULM had a strong offensive line class in 2008 and only lost one starter from last years starting lineup so the need to recruit offensive lineman in 2009 was minimal. At the moment the Warhawks have 17 offensive lineman on scholarship.
