Warhawks Sweep Away Privateers

Jordy Poche did it on the mound and at the plate for the Warhawks in a 4-1 victory over New Orleans Sunday afternoon.

ULM broke out the long ball once again in a 4-1 victory in the second game of a double header over the Privateers of New Orleans. With the sweep the Warhawks move to 11-6 (3-3 Sun Belt).

ULM starter Jordy Poche had the best pitching performance of the season to date going 8 innings allowing just 5 hits and one run. Poche struck out 4 and walked just one. Jordy helped his on cause at the plate hitting his second home run of the season, a solo shot in the bottom of the third.

Centerfielder Matt Laird continued to swing a hot bat hitting a 2 run homer to right center field that gave the Warhawks a 4-0 lead. Laird finished with 3 RBI on the day.

ULM got two hits a piece from Matt Collins, Boomer Blanchard, and Ben Soignier.
