Williams Tosses Masterpiece; ULM Thumps USM

The ULM Warhawks avenged a 4-2 extra inning loss to USM earlier in the season as they shut down the Eagles at home and put up 12 hits and 9 runs.

After letting Southern Mississippi steal an extra inning victory earlier in the year, the ULM Warhawks more than made up for it roasting the Eagles 9-2 at their place.

Don Williams was magnificent on the mound as he tossed a complete game 4 hitter, allowed just a solo home run to Joey Archer in the 5th inning and an RBI single in the 9th to Nick Smith. Williams walked just 2 on the night, struck out four and got 13 ground ball outs. It is the first complete game thrown for the Warhawks this season. Don threw 131 pitches.

The Warhawks were lead at the plate by Matt Collins 3 hits and Jon Prevost 2 hits, four RBI's, and 3 runs scored. DH Jordy Poche drove in 2 runs on the night and got the Warhawks started with an RBI triple in the top of the 2nd. ULM had 5 extra base hits on the night.

ULM (13-10) will play it's next four games on the road starting with a SBC series against Florida Atlantic this weekend. With the win ULM moves to 3-6 on the road.
