Boomer, Anderson Lead ULM 11-4 Over FAU

ULM evened the best of three series against FAU with an 11-4 victory. The Warhawks got great pitching from Justin Anderson and big day out of 2nd baseman Boomer Blanchard.

ULM starter Justin Anderson was on his game today allowing only 1 earned run in six innings of work picking up the victory 11-4 over Florida Atlantic. Anderson only allowed 7 hits.

In a game marred by errors on both sides, the ULM pitching staff combined to only give up one earned run. Relief pitcher Blake Jones had an excellent outing going 3 innings allowing just three hits and picked up the save.

FAU starter Barry Rooks barely broke a sweat getting the hook after just 0.2 innings of work. Rooks was tagged with the tough loss as his defense didn't help his cause in the first inning.

For the Warhawks it was their lead off man Boomer Blanchard who provided a spark getting on base in 5 out 6 plate appearances. The junior 2nd baseman had 3 hits, 2 walks, scored 4 runs, and drove in a run when he hit his 6th home run of the season, a solo shot. Centerfielder Matt Laird also enjoyed a successful day with three hits, his fourth home run of the season and 3 RBI's.

Catcher Ryan McMillan only recorded one hit on the day but he drove in 3 runs for the Warhawks. Jon Prevost picked up 2 more hits and scored 2 runs as he continues to swing a hot bat.

Game three has been moved up to a 10:00AM start on Sunday morning because of potential bad weather.
