New Mexico JC Center Fabio Ribero Commits

New Mexico JC head coach Jimmy Voight confirmed to Warhawk Nation this morning that 6'10 Fabio Ribero has committed to the ULM Warhawks.

6'10 245 pound Fabio Ribero has made it official, he will sign with the ULM Warhawks according to his head coach Jimmy Voight. "Fabio visited ULM last week and came back very impressed", said Voight. He likes the staff and assistant coach Gus Hauser did a great job of recruiting him".

"I know ULM has a need for a big man in talking to Coach Early. They had some injuries at the guard position last year but other than big Rudy they lacked size inside. This is a great opportunity for Fabio to get some immediate playing time and contribute to the Warhawks".

"ULM is getting an outstanding young man as well", said Voight. We only had 2 returning players this year and still went 21-9. Ribero had a lot to do with that. Fabio has a solid touch in the 12-15 foot range, he is good on elbow jumpers, and is a good re bounder and defender. He needs to get better with his back to the basket but that will come with hard work".

Last season Fabio averaged 8.0 points a game and 8.2 rebounds a game. He had season highs of 23 points and a season high of 20 rebounds in a game. Not only that but Fabio is an outstanding student holding a 3.6 GPA.

South Alabama senior guard Dominic Tilford is a product of New Mexico JC that played under Coach Voight in his first season. Tilford was a third-team all-Sun Belt Conference pick in his first year with the Jaguars. Tilford was also named to the SBC All Tournament team this season and a 2nd team pick for the season. "I am familiar with the Sun Belt schools", said Voight. I feel this is an excellent fit for Fabio.

Among other schools that had inquired about Fabio include South Florida, Pepperdine, Kent State, Cincinnati, and Cal State Northridge.
