An error and a wild pitch in the bottom of the fifth inning would be costly as Arkansas would be able to tie the game up at four a piece. Lyons singled to left field scoring team mates Collin Kuhn, and James McCann.
The sixth inning would be a repeat of the fifth as another error and wild pitch would allow the Hogs to take a 5-4 lead.
ULM would rally in the top of the 7th and get a clutch two strike, 3 run homer by Matt Collins that gave the Warhawks a short lived 7-5 lead.
Arkansas would hit their own three run homer in the bottom of the 7th as Brett Eibner was clutch coming as the pinch hitter and giving the Razorbacks the lead back at 8-7.
In the top of the 9th the Hogs were feeling generous as they would give one back to the Warhawks. A fielding error on the 2nd baseman would allow Boomer Blanchard to score from 2nd after leading off the inning with a double. Tied a 9, the two teams would play extra baseball.
ULM would strike first in the top of the 10th and take a 9-8 lead when Perry Smith singled home Nick Wade. It appeared that the Warhawks would escape with 2 wins on the road against the Hogs but Arkansas had other plans as Lyons ended the contest with his 2 run homer.
ULM (22-13) will return to action this weekend in a critical three game series against Middle Tennessee. Taking 2/3 from the Blue Raiders would give the Warhawks a shot at a share of the Sun Belt Conference lead.
