Blue Raiders Take Series

Ben Soignier drove in four runs but it wasn't enough as Middle Tennessee took game two 8-6 over ULM. With the win the Blue Raiders take the series and send the Warhawks to their 3rd straight loss.

The Warhawks just couldn't string together enough hits in this one as they fall on the road to Middle Tennessee 8-6 in game two of the three game series. ULM (22-15, 11-9 Sun Belt) has now lost three in a row and falls four games behind Middle Tennessee (26-10, 15-5 Sun Belt) in the standings.

Ben Soignier had a big day at the plate hitting his sixth home run of the season and driving in four runs. Boomer Blanchard was on base three times and scored two runs. Perry Smith recorded a hit and extended his hit streak to seven games and scored two runs. Ryan McMillan was 1/4 and hit his 3rd home run of the season.

Justin Anderson started the game for ULM and lasted 5.1 innings giving up 10 hits and six runs (4 earned). Anderson walked one and struck out four. Drew Graham came on in relief of Justin and took the loss for the Warhawks. Tyler Burnett singled home Blake McDade who had doubled earlier in the inning with the game winning run.

MT added an insurance run in the bottom of the eight but didn't need it as Blue Raider closer Cody Woods got the Warhawks to go away in order in the top of the ninth to pick up the save and secure the win.
