Warhawks Chase Demons 17-9

ULM continued to defend it's home turf in a 17-9 victory over the visiting Demons from Northwestern State Wednesday night. The Warhawks improved to 16-4 at home.

ULM broke open a close 7-5 contest in the bottom of the fifth inning when they posted an 8 spot that proved to be too much for the Demons to over come.

Jon Prevost hit his team leading 12th home run of the season and Matt Collins hit his 7th. Prevost scored four times and drove in four. He leads the Warhawks in extra base hits with 24, and total bases with 103.

Shortstop Ben Soignier doubled and drove in 3 raising his team leading RBI total to 49. Boomer Blanchard went 2/5 with three runs scored and an RBI. His 2 hits give him a team high 60 on the season.

Ryan McMillan, Jordy Poche, Nick Wade, and Matt Laird each recorded two hits or more and combined to score seven runs and drive in 6.

ULM starter Don Williams had another rough night at the office lasting just three innings and giving up four runs on six hits. His replacement Josh Miller did fair any better getting hit for 5 runs (4 earned) on seven hits in 2 innings of action.

Corey Brown and Drew Graham were able to put the clamps down closing out the contest last 3 innings allowing just one hit and no runs.

ULM will now start a three game home series with Florida International starting Friday at 6PM.
