Panthers Claw Back; Win 8-3

Florida International tied the three game series at 1 a piece after taking game two 8-3 over the ULM Warhawks.

The FIU Panthers were able to put eight runs on the board on just 10 hits and took game two of the series 8-3 over the ULM Warhawks. With the loss, the Warhawks 9 game home win streak was snapped and the Panthers leaped back into fourth place over ULM.

Matt Collins (2/4 2RBI) gave ULM an early 2-1 lead when he doubled to center field scoring Boomer Blanchard and Jon Prevost. FIU posted 2 runs in the top of the 5th and the Warhawks countered with one of their own in the bottom that kept the game tied at 3.

FIU though would start to pull away in the top of the 6th when they walked, singled, doubled, and homered to take a 7-3 lead. The Panthers would put one more run on the board in the top of the 8th and thats how the game would end 8-3.

The Warhawks were held to just seven hits in the contest as Blanchard, Prevost, and Ben Soignier all recorded one hit on the day, with Perry Smith and Collins finishing with 2 hits.
