Warhawks Let One Get Away

The ULM Warhawks held an 8-3 lead going into the bottom of the 8th inning but couldn't hold onto that lead dropping a 11-10 decision on the road to Lamar.

ULM won't remember the fourteen hits and 10 runs they put on the board but the 13 base runners they left stranded on the bases in a devastating 11-10 defeat to the Lamar Cardinals.

The Warhawks led 8-3 going into the bottom of the eight inning but gave up a four spot to tighten the lead at 8-7.

ULM Shortstop Ben Soignier gave ULM some breathing room when he crushed a 2 run homer in the top of the 9th to give the Warhawks a 3 run cushion heading into the bottom of the 9th.

The Cardinals would win the game in the bottom of the ninth when they posted 4 runs on five hits. Josh Miller took the loss for the Warhawks giving up 5 runs on 7 hits in 1.2 innings of work.

Jon Prevost and Boomer Blanchard each recorded three hits on the night and reached base five times a piece. Ben Soignier hit his 7th home run of the season and drove in 3 RBI's.
