Warhawks Offer Bruising Tailback

There is a bruising tailback in the state of Texas that not many know about. ULM was the first college that moved in on this star in the making in hopes that it will pay off in the long run.

Not once, not twice, but three times in 2008 did Mount Enterprise running back Kevin Pope eclipse 200 yards rushing in one game. The 6'0 220 pound monster runs a 4.5 forty but it is his power that is what is so impressive.

Averaging a first down every time he touched the ball in 2008, (11.4 ypc) Pope ran for 1,162 yards on just 102 carries and scored 18 touchdowns.

While several schools have started to move in on Kevin, one school pulled the trigger first and offered him his first college scholarship. "ULM was my first", said Pope. It meant a lot to me. I didn't know much about them at first but I have been doing some homework. They are a nice program".

"I call coach Collins from ULM from time to time to keep in touch. He is a good man, he keeps the pressure on you. I like that in a coach though, someone that will push you to the next level".

Other schools that have jumped on the Pope express and offered now include S.F.Austin Lumberjacks, and SMU Mustangs. "Northwestern State, TCU, and Houston have also shown recent interest as well.

"I really don't have a preference in what college division I play in, I just want the opportunity to play", said the humble Pope.
