Horn Lake Athlete Talks ULM Camp

Horn Lake athlete Camaren gives Warhawk Nation the lastest on his summer plans, his schools of interest, and his first potential scholarship offer.

Horn Lake athlete Camaren Harris attended the Warhawks one day camp last week and impressed the ULM coaching staff so much he could see his first scholarship offer much sooner than later.

"I was up there last Monday for the ULM one day camp", said Harris. I started off catching balls but then ULM moved me into some defensive back and wide receiver drills. I guess you could say they are looking at me as an athlete".

The word is beginning to get out about Harris. Just a couple of weeks ago he was one of 108 high school athletes to participate in the 2nd annual Southeast Select Combine held in Tupelo Ms. He was named to the All Combine team and took home the top offensive player award.

"Coach Perkins is recruiting me and he introduced me to the whole staff. They seemed like a real nice staff. They told that I did real well. I should be receiving an offer from them any day now, I am looking forward to it".

Camaren scored an 18 on his ACT and is looking for a degree in business management. Harris 5'11 190 and scored 6 touchdowns as a junior to go along with 3 interceptions and 48 tackles. In addition to the ULM camp, Harris has participated in the Arkansas State, and Southern Miss camps and is planning a trip to Purdue and Hawaii.
