St Michael quarterback Jeremy Meyers stands 6'2 and weighs in a 207 pounds. He also turned heads when he ran a high 4.6 in the forty yard dash. While he has played quarterback for most of his career, the ULM Warhawks saw some characteristics in Meyers that they would like to see on the defensive side of the ball.
"ULM likes me at line backer and quarterback", said Meyers. It's kind of funny, the quarterback coach Jonas Weatherbie likes me at quarterback and the line backer coaches likes me on the defensive side of the ball". They like my size and footwork on the defensive side of the ball. Playing the H-Back or Tight End position was also an option.
What does Jeremy think about a change to the defensive side of the ball?
"I wouldn't be opposed to it. I'm not gonna say I wouldn't rather play quarterback but I am not against a change. ULM has told me that I have an offer and they don't care where I line up, they just would like to see me a part of their program".
What were Jeremy's thoughts on his unofficial visit to ULM?
First off, its close. I live only a few hours from campus, so that is a plus. This was my first look at ULM and I was surprised to find out just how nice the campus is. The library is unbelievable and you don't see many campuses with a bayou running through them. I got to check out the athlete dorm rooms and just basically tour the campus. It was a great experience".
Jeremy holds a 3.7 GPA and scored a 22 on his ACT. He just retook it in hopes of scoring even higher. "I liked the pharmacy and construction degrees ULM has to offer".
So what about a time table on his decision?
"I would like to make a decision sooner rather than later. ULM said they have two spots available at the LB position".
In addition to camping at ULM, Jeremy has also been to Arkansas State, and Northwestern State. He has future camps planned at Tulane, McNeese State, and potentially Auburn. The Demons from NWST have also offered Meyers.
