Warhawks Close To 1st Commitment

As the month of June is about to leave us, football season is on the verge of really gearing up into full swing. With that comes more and more commitments from prospects looking for a college home after life in high school. The ULM Warhawks are very close to getting that 1st commitment to jump on board.

Diboll, Tx high school offensive lineman Antonio Johnson is ever so close to giving his verbal to the ULM Warhawks.

"I am kind of torn right now", said Johnson. I want to just go ahead and give ULM a soft verbal and take my visits and at the same time wait till after the season to make a decision. I am probably closer to just committing and then taking my visits, we will see".

Johnson (6'6 275) is holding scholarship offers from the Utep Miners and ULM Warhawks. I took an unofficial visit to ULM on June 23rd just to get to know more about them. "I really enjoyed my visit. Would stood out the most is that ULM is not too big of a school and not too small either, they are just right".

"I checked out the dorm rooms, the weight room, the football stadium, and talk with some academic professors. I like the ULM Kinesiology department".

Coach Weatherbie talked to me for a little bit and just said that I had a full scholarship offer to be apart of the ULM program, that he really wanted me here. ULM is recruiting me as an offensive tackle".

The Warhawks got a good look at Johnson when he attended their one day camp over in Shreveport earlier in June. "I will definitely be back to take an official visit with ULM", said Antonio.

Stay tuned to Warhawk Nation as we continue to bring you updates on Antonio.
