Coverdale Leaving ULM Staff

Four year ULM assistant coach Tom Coverdale has left the ULM basketball program to continue his career in the state of Texas.

Warhawk Nation learned yesterday was ULM assistant coach Tom Coverdale's last day on the job.

Coverdale spent four seasons at ULM, two as an intern and two as an assistant coach. The Indiana native has accepted a position as the top assistant coach at Tyler Junior College in Texas.

"It's a great opportunity for me", said Coverdale. It's always tough to leave a program like ULM but this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up".

Tyler JC is the same school that produced current ULM forward Malcolm Thomas. Malcolm is not the only ULM alum to come from the Apache program. Dating back to 1994, then the Northeast Indians, Demetrius Jackson was a transfer from Tyler. Going even further back to 1987, Alvin Jefferson came to then NLU from the Tyler program.
