Last week Warhawk Nation reported that the ULM Warhawks were very close to gaining a commitment from Top 100 defensive lineman Antonio Johnson. The Diboll high school stand out confirmed to Warhawk Nation today that he did pull the trigger and committed to the Warhawks this past Monday.
"What a relief", said Johnson. I know this is the right thing to do, it just feels good. At first I didn't know who was really interested in me or who was just dragging me along. After visiting the ULM campus and getting to know their staff, I made the right choice".
"It was the coaching staff that made the difference for me. They gave it to me straight and didn't sugar coat it".
I called Coach Weatherbie and told him I wanted to commit. He was excited and told me that he was happy to hear the good news".
At 6'7 and 270 pounds, Johnson has played tight end, defensive end, and offensive line. Johnson says that the Warhawks are looking at him as an offensive tackle.
Antonio is also a stand out basketball player for the Lumberjacks. He was named to the class 18-3A 2nd team after scoring 9.7ppg, with 7.8 rebounds and blocking 62 shots in 30 games.
Look for Warhawk Nation to keep the updates coming on Antonio along with some highlights from his junior season.
