Campus Made The Difference For Fisher

After attending a camp at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Jon Fisher made a return trip to Monroe to get an in depth look at the campus and facilities. It didn't take Fisher long to end his recruitment and commit to Coach Weatherbie and the Warhawks.

The ULM Warhawks picked up a big commitment when Oxford high school lineman Jon Fisher gave his commitment to the ULM coaching staff this afternoon.

"I came to their one day camp back in June and really liked the atmosphere but didn't get a chance to really look around", said Fisher. I took an unofficial trip back over here today to get a closer look".

"The first thing I noticed it how clean and new everything on campus is. The dorm rooms are all new and the new student success center really caught my attention. I was able to meet a lot of the professors and the University president Dr Cofer. He has done an amazing job with the campus".

Fisher made the rounds this summer camping as well. Along with ULM, he also attended Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, and Vanderbilt camps.

"I really liked how the coaches and staff took care of me when I was there. I kind of surprised Coach Weatherbie and Coach Perkins. We sat down in his office and I told him I wanted to commit. "He and coach Perkins jumped up, they were excited".

"Basically I camped at a ton of schools but I knew when I got to ULM this was where I wanted to be. I didn't see any reason to keep looking, everything I need is right here. I like the character of the coaches and the players here".

Jon excels in the classroom holding a 3.75 GPA and an impressive 25 on his ACT. He is planning on majoring in Math or a business related field.
