ULM's Pro Potential

Over the last several years the ULM Warhawks have been well represented in the NFL. Alum's Chris Harris and Kevin Payne have led the way but could have company next year with the additions of Scott Love and Cardia Jackson.

CollegeFootballNews.com recently released it's top prospects for the 2010 NFL draft broken down by position.

ULM ILB Cardia Jackson and punter Scott Love both represented the Warhawks at their respective positions. Love is projected as the nations #2 punter behind Matt Dodge of East Carolina.

Arkansas State was represented as kicker Josh Arauco came in ranked as the #2 place kicker in the nation.

Jackson was labeled as one of the "Best of the Rest" inside linebackers in the nation grabbing the #22 ranking. Fellow SBC linebacker Boris Lee from Troy occupied the #15 spot.

CBSSports.com will also update their rankings throughout the season and currently has Cardia listed as the #33 ILB in the nation with a 4.79 forty time. NFLDraftDog.com has it's early 2010 draft predictions and they have Jackson right outside of the 7th round as one of the top Free Agent pick ups.

Troy linebackers Borris Lee and Bear Woods both cracked the top 50. Love drops to #15 in the CBS punter pre-season rankings.

Coming in at #52 for the strong safety position is ULM "Hawk" defensive back James Truxillo. James missed almost all of 2008 when he tore his ACL in the second game of the season against Arkansas. Plenty of upside for Truxillo going into 2009 as James could move up the ranks with a solid season.

Greg James is currently sitting in the #32 spot for free safety rankings but probably would be higher if not for his dismissal from the team in spring. Back in the good graces of the coaching staff, James could make a case for the top 10 if he keeps his head in the game.

CBS already has it's preseason 2011 NFL draft projections and the Warhawks have a couple of players of interest.

Running back Frank Goodin starts this season ranked #48 and quarterback Trey Revell comes in holding down the #62 spot.
