After a solid showing at #2 Texas the ULM Warhawks are ready to build on that Saturday night as they will defend their home turf against Texas Southern of the SWAC conference. Warhawk Nation takes a look at this weeks match up
While one week is not really enough of a measuring stick to compare stats, there is one that jumps out to us; penalties. TSU was penalized a whopping 20 times for 137 yards in their loss to Prairie View A&M. ULM had their share of miscues that hurt them against Texas as well (9-80), and took away some big plays. Both teams will need to cut those in half.
Turnovers are a coaches nightmare unless they are on the receiving end of course. TSU and ULM layed it on the turf a combined 9 times last week, while both lost 2 a piece. On the flip side, both teams were able to take away 5 balls last week which helped to balance the turnover war.
Overall TSU played a much weaker opponent and only mustered 204 total yards and scored 7 points. ULM was able to post 20 points and put up 300 yards of offense on the nations #2 ranked Texas Longhorns. A long bus ride from Houston will make for an even longer bus ride home in this one. Warhawks roll at home and even their record at 1-1.
