Warhawks Crush Panthers 48-35

Off to their best start since 1993, the ULM Warhawks move to 2-0 in Sun Belt play with a dominating 48-35 victory over the Florida International Panthers.

ULM quarterback Trey Revell posted a career high 332 offensive yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Warhawks to a 48-35 victory over the FIU Panthers at Homecoming Saturday afternoon at Malone stadium.

Revell completed 19/35 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns and added 59 yards rushing and another score.

Junior running back Frank Goodin had a field day rushing for a career high 163 yards on 19 carries and equaling his career high with three rushing touchdowns. Goodin had touchdown runs of 9, 35, and 23.

Wide receiver Darrell McNeal was a favorite target for Revell with 6 grabs for 108 yards and touchdown receptions of 4, and 18 yards. Senior LaGregory Sapp finished with 4 receptions for 82 yards with a long of 52.

Speedster Luther Ambrose was more involved in the Warhawks game plan this week getting 14 touches running, catching, and returning and posting a team high 186 all purpose yards.

ULM kicker Radi Jabour continues to impress hitting on both of his field goal attempts. Jabour hit from 34 and tied his career high from 48 yards out and was a perfect 6/6 on extra points. Jabour is 18/18 on his XP attempts in 2009.

Offensively the Warhawks put up a whopping 577 yards compared to 391 for FIU. ULM rushed for 304 yards on 53 carries while holding the Panthers to just 77 yards rushing on 27 carries.

Defensively ULM was led by LB Josh Thomas who had 13 tackles on the day. In fact fellow line backers Cardia Jackson and Theo Smith each finished with 12 tackles. The Warhawk defense had 10 pass break ups, 2 sacks, 6 QB hurries, 2 INT's, and 4 tackles for loss.

ULM will now get a much needed 10 days rest before hosting the Arkansas Red Wolves on Tuesday October 13th in front of a nationally televised ESPN2 contest.
