Porter Ready to Commit?

Northside defensive tackle Tyler Porter just wrapped up an official visit to McNeese State today. Is he ready to make a commitment yet? Will he take any more official visits? Get the answers here.

"It went well and I enjoyed it," said Tyler Porter of his official visit to McNeese State. "I'm not ready to commit anywhere yet. I'm going to call Coach (Pierre) Ingram and Coach (Sonny) Dykes at Tech and let them know that I need more time.

"The visit this weekend left me thinking, because I like the people and the community at McNeese. My hosts were Desmund Lighten and Kentrell Butler, and I liked them and I enjoyed meeting more of the players. I really enjoyed it and I have a genuine interest in McNeese."

Will Porter take any more official visits?

"I'm taking the visit to UL next weekend," he said. "I haven't ruled anyone out, although there's only a small percentage chance that I'll go with UL. I'm going to see whatever they have to offer, though."

Porter is a two-time first-team all-state defender, and he was named the All-Acadiana Defensive MVP a few weeks ago.
