Salmen DE visiting Tech

Louisiana Tech is seeking to establish a pipeline at Salmen High School, which is one of the state's premier football powers. Last night, Salmen (Slidell, La.) three-star defensive tackle Malcolm Pichon committed to the Bulldogs, and this weekend his friend and teammate -- defensive end T.J. Price -- will take an official visit to Ruston. Is Price looking to make a decision this weekend?

"The chances are higher that I might commit (to Louisiana Tech) this weekend after Malcolm (Pichon) committed last night," said Salmen defensive end T.J. Price. "The chances go up some more, but I might and I might not. I don't know where I want to go yet.

"Coach (Sonny) Dykes and Coach (Jeff) Koonz came to my basketball game last night and they came to my house. They wanted to make sure that I feel comfortable and that I'm able to ask any questions that I may have...

"I'm down to Louisiana Tech and McNeese for football, and Murray State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for basketball. Murray State is real interested and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has offered."

Price and the Spartans are 19-3 on the hardwood this year, with their only losses coming to Peabody, Brother Martin, and Sheldon (Sacramento, Ca.).

Salmen avenged the setback to Brother Martin last week with a 64-58 win over the Crusaders. Last night, Price and the Spartans routed East Jefferson, 73-43.
