"I committed to Louisiana Tech tonight," said the versatile and explosive Levander Liggins (Leesville HS). "I told Coach (Tommy) Spangler, who was recruiting me, and he was fired up. Then, I talked to Coach Dykes and he was excited. He said that he and his wife were going to have a party now."

Liggins accounted for close to 3,000 all-purpose yards in 2010, averaging nearly 10 yards per carry and over 22 yards per reception. During his career at the southwest Louisiana 4A school, Liggins lined up at QB, WR, RB, KR, and DB.

With several options on the table, why did he go with Tech?

"It came down to UL and Tech," he explained. "I took an official visit to UL this weekend and after it was over, we as a family sat down and everyone gave their opinions on what I should do.

"I liked Tech's home environment. They made me feel comfortable and they broke everything down: the pros and cons of what I'd possibly be faced with in college."
