Morgan Talks Georgia Tech

Chris Morgan, the hard-hitting defensive back from Catholic-Baton Rouge, went to Atlanta last weekend for Georgia Tech's Junior Day. What did he think about the experience and which other schools are recruiting him?

"It was definitely more than I expected to see," said Chris Morgan. "I love it up there. The facilities are great and I love the academics. They're tough on you in the classroom, but if you handle your business, you'll network and make connections.

"Georgia Tech is putting the finishing touches on their new indoor practice facility, and the school recently built a rec center that's supposed to be the best in the country."

What did Morgan have to say about the Yellow Jackets' coaching staff?

"I really like Coach (Paul) Johnson, the head coach," he said. "I also like the DBs coach, Charles Kelly. Coach Johnson is down to earth. He doesn't sugarcoat anything, either. He's going to keep it real. He doesn't tell you something, just to try and get you to like his school."

Morgan is also hearing from Texas A&M, Pittsburgh, SMU, Ole Miss, and LSU.

"Coach (Michael) Norvell from Pittsburgh is planning to come down this spring and watch me," said Morgan. "And I'm going to try and make it up to Pitt this summer.

"Other than that, these are my plans: I'm playing in the Badger Sports 7-on-7 and attending the Nike Training Camp in Houston. Also, I'm going to camp at LSU and Georgia Tech this summer...and maybe Texas A&M."

Last year, Morgan (6-0, 190) played a hybrid LB/SS role for Class 5A Catholic. He registered 90 tackles to go along with nine TFL and four sacks.
