'13 Intro: Hahnville DT Juvon Gales

Hahnville defensive tackle Juvon Gales is a sophomore who has the chance to make a big impact during the '11 season.

Hahnville High School is widely-recognized as having one of the premier football programs in Louisiana's 5A classification, but the Tigers will field a very young team this fall.

On the one hand, it may be a rebuilding year in '11 for the River Parishes school, but at the same time there are some promising underclassmen who are ready to step up.

"We lose all 22 senior starters," said sophomore defensive tackle Juvon Gales (6-2, 260). "Our whole offense and defense is gone."

Gales plans to move into a starting role on the defensive front.

"Last season went well," he said. "I got to play some. I had 10 tackles and two sacks. I know how to read plays well and I'm quick. I run a 4.9, so I'm faster than most offensive linemen. I'm quick off the ball, but I need to work on getting off double teams from stronger offensive linemen."

Gales, who maintains a 3.2 grade point average, would like to hear from LSU, Georgia, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, UL, and Southern Miss.
