"I'm hearing from a lot of different schools. I got mail from both Texas A&M and UL today, and I'm going to UL's Junior Day. I'm also getting interest from Princeton, Harvard, Penn, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Louisiana Tech, Tulsa, Baylor, Southeastern, McNeese State, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA, Georgia, and Georgia Tech."
Three programs in particular stand out to Nixon.
Last year, Nixon took the majority of the snaps under center in Carencro's Wing-T offense, but he'll likely move to wide receiver (or possibly even defense) in college.
"I'll be the full-time quarterback this year," he said. "I'll be taking all the snaps and that's all I'm projected to play, but I can play other positions."
Nixon accumulated 1,017 all-purpose yards last year en route to leading Carencro to the first round of the playoffs. The Bears are expected to content for the state title in 2011, thanks to Nixon and teammates such as DT Jacoby Briscoe, RB Alex Johnson, and OL Jordan Walker.
"Everybody is projecting us to be the state champ," said Nixon. "That's all that's on our minds. We're taking it serious and everyone in the community is 100% rooting us on. It's been a dream of ours ('12 class) since we were in middle school."
