Four-Star DE has two SEC offers

The first two offers have arrived for four-star DE Terrell Lathan (West Monroe HS), and both are from the Southeastern Conference. Does he have any favorites? What does he think about TCU, a program that's had recent success at West Monroe?

"I have offers from Arkansas and Mississippi State," said Terrell Lathan, the 6-foot-4, 235-pound four-star DE from West Monroe (La.) HS. "I went to a Junior Day at LSU, but that's the only one I attended."

Does Lathan have a top school in mind?

"I don't have any favorites, but I like LSU, Texas A&M, and Louisiana Tech. Tech is close to home - very close. It's only 30 minutes away. I also like the coaches there. They're very nice."

Defensive line coach (and recruiting coordinator) Stan Eggen is recruiting Lathan for Louisiana Tech.

TCU signed West Monroe DT Chuck Hunter last month, and the Horned Frogs also landed a commitment from star West Monroe junior DE James McFarland several day ago. Is TCU in the mix for Lathan?

"It's not anywhere I'd go," said Lathan. "I'm not necessarily going to stay in-state, but that's a little too far away."

West Monroe is a yearly fixture in the Class 5A state championship game, and the Rebels will certainly be formidable on defense this fall with the return of Lathan and McFarland.
