Catalon Commits to Colorado

Colorado received a commitment from one of the best running backs in Texas when Houston Westside RB Ben Catalon chose the Buffaloes.

"I'm feeling excited," said Benjamin Catalon, who committed to Colorado recently. "Everybody is talking about it and asking me questions.

"The coaches at Colorado all got on the phone together when I called to commit. They were really excited. It was really nice."

Colorado assistant coach Eric Bieniemy played a big role in securing Catalon's verbal.

"He's cool," said Catalon of Bieniemy. "He's laid-back some, but not all the time. He has a good plan for recruiting and is very enthusiastic."

Catalon further discussed his decision-making process.

"My parents and I felt it was the best decision for me, and we came to that conclusion over the weekend," he said. "Right now, Colorado is the right place with the right people for me - with Coach Bieniemy and all of the other coaches.

"They're switching conferences and starting fresh. I'm glad to get the decision behind me, because now there's a lot less stress."

Catalon, who is in the 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 range and weighs around 185 pounds, rushed for over 1,000 yards last year for Westside.
