Patterson Prospects Dominate at UA Combine

Patterson reached the Louisiana Class 3A finals last year and the Lumberjacks are the early favorite to win state in 2011, thanks to players such as junior prospects Tre'Von Stewart and Jaydrick Declouet. The pair of 'Jacks traveled to Jacksonville, Florida, over the weekend for the Under Armour Combine, and you could say they were ambassadors for Louisiana's brand of football.

"They didn't give any awards out there, but Jaydrick killed all of the DBs and I shut down all of the receivers," said three-star Patterson CB Tre'Von Stewart, who holds offers from Southern Miss and Houston.

"When the drills were concluded, everyone wanted to see Jaydrick and I go up against each other. He got me one time and I picked it off one time."

What else did Stewart have to say about the Under Armour Combine?

"There were fast receivers there and everybody was asking us if we were from Florida. We said that we were from Louisiana, and they were like - 'that's a long drive.'

"It was worth it, though. The highlight was the one-on-one drills. It was very competitive."

What's up next for Stewart?

"I'm going to UL's Junior Day on Saturday, which is from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M., and then Coach Frank Wilson wants me to go watch LSU practice. I also have upcoming visits to Arkansas and Texas A&M."

Declouet is now up to five offers, according to Stewart. North Texas, Houston, Southern Miss, Central Florida, and Memphis have all offered.
