Taylor Talks Recruiting

Daniel Taylor is pound-for-pound, the most exciting player in Louisiana's '12 class, and he talks recruiting here with Scout.com. Has his leader changed? Which new schools are showing interest?

"Nothing's really changed, other than a few new schools are showing interest," said Daniel Taylor, the three-star junior prospect from Lutcher High School. "I'm hearing from Dartmouth in the Ivy League and Holy Cross, and my coach told me that BYU and Central Florida called him yesterday.

"I also got my first letter from Louisiana Tech. I'm not really hearing from LSU. They're sending me letters, but that's it."

Does Pitt still lead for Taylor?

"Yes, they're my leader, and I hear from Coach (Michael) Norvell once or twice a week," said Taylor. "He'll hit me up and check on me; see how I'm doing."

What are Taylor's plans for the spring and what does he have to say about his teammates, DBs Kyron Jackson and Jordan Batiste (Memphis offer)?

"I don't have any Junior Days scheduled," he said. "I'm going to the Under Armour Combine in New Orleans. That's in April. As< far as schools I'm going to visit and camps, I'm not sure yet. I'm also going to the NIKE Training Camp, and we start spring training in May.

"Kyron is raw, but he is very good. He's one of our leading returning starters. He's a similar-type player as Ed Reed. Jordan has been busy with track, so I haven't talked to him much lately."

Taylor rushed for 1,245 yards last year and did it in style, averaging close to 12 yards per carry.
