"I don't know much about Nebraska, but they keep saying they want me. They never have said I'll get an offer, though."
Carencro was eliminated in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs last year (by Brother Martin), but the Bears -- a junior-laden squad in 2010 -- are expected to contend for the state title this fall.
"We're projected as the number one 5A school," said Johnson, who rushed for over 1,100 yards and 17 touchdowns last season in Carencro's Wing-T offense. "We expect to make it to the state championship. That's what everybody is saying.
"The Wing-T is fun, because it's confusing to defenses. By the time I get the ball, the defense is often too confused to know where it is. I think I run like Adrian Peterson. I have a good burst, although I may not have the top speed. I also have good balance and quick feet."
Johnson went to LSU's Junior Day and he would like to take in UL's Junior Day this weekend, but a previously-scheduled endeavor may prevent him from attending.
