"I'm 5-foot-9, 175, and I run a 4.5," said Richwood junior Andrick Mitchell, who lines up under center for the Rams. "I expect to play slot receiver in college, and I'm getting letters from these schools: Southern Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.

"I'm also going to the UL Junior Day this weekend with my teammates, Tre Hunter (DB) and Trey Goins (OL). I love Southern Miss and Mississippi State. Those are my two favorite schools. Louisiana Tech is really good and I would love to play there, too."

Last year, Mitchell guided the Rams to the second round of the Class 3A playoffs, where their season ended at the hands of powerful Redemptorist.

"We have a whole bunch of players coming back next year," said Mitchell. "We just need to play more as a team. I think I'm good at bringing the team up when we're down (in terms of morale). I keep a positive attitude.

"A couple of my best games last year were against Rayville and Jewel Sumner. In the Rayville game, we were down in the 4th Quarter and I threw a TD pass to tie the game. In the Sumner game (first round playoff contest), we were down by 21 points in the 2nd Quarter and I helped bring the team back for the victory."

Mitchell completed 9-of-11 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns vs. Sumner.
