Eighth For Bourque

Offer No. 8 arrived today for Crowley ATH Davante' Bourque. Read further to get the details.

"We checked out Houston today and they offered," said Crowley junior Davante' Bourque. "My dad wanted to go to Houston. He's friends with their offensive coordinator, Jason Phillips.

"Coach Phillips is orginally from Crowley. I liked it at Houston. They're recruiting me at running back."

Who is Bourque's leader and when will he make a decision?

"I don't have a particular timetable, but I plan to commit to Texas A&M once I get my test score back. They stand alone at the top of my list."

Bourque takes the ACT next month.

Over the weekend, he performed well at the North Vermilion Patriot Relays.

"I ran on the 4 X 100 and 4 X 200 relay teams," Bourque said. "We finished first in the 4 X 1 and second in the 4 X 2. I didn't run any individual events, since it was my first meet."

Next weekend, Bourque and his father (Kirk Landry) are heading to College Station to check out the Aggies again.

Last year, Bourque ran for close to 2,400 yards with 40 touchdowns. He was named first-team all-state and also All-Acadiana.
