Kyron Thompson Ready For Junior Day

Bastrop's Kyron Thompson is among the top players in North Louisiana this season. Thompson joins Ouachita's Quentin Wheeler and Homer's Jaqueze Holyfield on the list of local players headed to Junior Day at Louisiana Tech.

Former Neville standout Jeremy Runner, now at Northwest Mississippi Junior College, is also planning to be in Ruston on Saturday.

The list of local players on the list incluse Kyron Thompson from Bastrop, Quentin Wheeler from Ouachita, Zach Tarver from OCS, Jaqueze Holyfield from Homer, and Trent Hall from Fair Park.

Wheeler, a 6'1" quarterback, is among several athletic signal callers on the list. 6'1" King Davis from North Mesquite and 6'1" Cameron Oliver from Canyon Creek will be on hand from Texas. Fredi Knighten, a 5'10" quarterback from Pulaski Academy, will be one of two Arkansas quarterbacks in town. Zach Conque, a 6'5" quarterback from North Little Rock, is also heading to Ruston. Conque is the son of former Louisiana Tech assistant and current Central Arkansas Head Coach Clint Conque.

Thompson is excited about the upcoming season. "I haven't really talked to anyone recently," admitted Thompson. "Texas A&M and Oklahoma want to see my highlight tape. Louisiana Tech has been talking to me about coming to their summer camp. It's a nice school."

Thomas Bachman takes over as the head coach at Bastrop. "He's a good coach. I like him," added Thompson. "I'm ready for this upcoming season. I can't wait."
