Runner Visits Tech

Louisiana Tech hosted a number of visitors last weekend, including JUCO WR Jeremy Runner. Find out what Runner, who prepped at Neville High School, had to say about his Ruston visit.

"I got to see Taylor Burch, who was my teammate at Neville," said Jeremy Runner. "I also got to see Myles White, my former teammate at Northwest Mississippi (Community College). That was all we talked about - the possibility of us playing together again in the future at Tech.

"I spent some time talking with Coach (Rob) Likens, the wide receivers coach. He said I was looking like I was in pretty good shape, and that they're going to come watch me in spring practice."

What else did Runner have to say about Tech?

"I think they'll have a good season," he declared. "The defense was making big plays in the spring game.

"I've been liking Tech since high school. It's close to home, and they play the other schools who are recruiting me. If Tech offers me, I'll take it."

Runner, who consistently runs in the 4.45 range, will step into a leadership role at Northwest Mississippi in 2011.

"I'll be getting a lot of opportunities as a starting slot receiver," he said. "The coaches have confidence in me."

Runner and Burch led Neville to the 2009 Class 4A state championship, and the duo would love to reunite again on the college level.
