Mississippi DB visits Tech

Nigel Green, the all-purpose athlete (S/WR/KR) from Northwest Rankin High School (Brandon, Ms.), recently visited Louisiana Tech and you can get his reaction here.

"The Junior Day at Louisiana Tech went really good," said Nigel Green. "It was really nice, and I felt like I fit in well there.

"Coach (Rob) Likens talked briefly with me one-on-one, and he said they're going to come watch me practice on April 25th - which is the first day of spring ball."

What did the Tech staff say about Green's recruitment?

"They didn't say much about an offer, but they did talk about what position I would possibly play at Tech," recalled Green. "I play wide receiver, safety, and kick returner in high school, and Tech is looking at me as a safety.

"I'll take any defensive back position. I can play corner or safety."

How does Green describe his game?

"I get to the ball really quick," he said. "I also cover the field very well, and I'm not scared to hit somebody."

Last year, Green notched 89 tackles, broke up 16 passes, intercepted three, forced a couple of fumbles, and recovered a couple more for Northwest Rankin, which reached the second round of the Class 6A playoffs.
