What's next for McKenzie?

Jaborian "Tip" McKenzie updates Scout.com on his recruitment. Where will his next offer (already has six) come from? Where will he visit next?

" Recruiting is really starting to pick up," said Jaborian McKenzie, the three-star prospect from Trinity Episcopal (Natchez, Ms.) "Indiana is recruiting me really hard right now. My recruiting coach - Brandon Shelby - I have known him for awhile now. He was recruiting me when he was at Louisiana-Monroe.

"I have spoken with the wide receivers coach, and he seemed very interested in me. The running backs coach (Deland McCullough) - along with Coach Shelby - will visit me at my school the day after Easter. Indiana want to use me in space, so that I can use my speed to make plays."

McKenzie, who holds offers from Vanderbilt, Memphis, Southern Miss, Jackson State, Alcorn State, and Southern, is also drawing serious interest from a Big 12 program.

"Coach Mike Smith from Kansas State really liked my highlight film," explained McKenzie. "He forwarded it to the head coach for final approval. Coach Smith will also visit me during spring evaluation - so my next two offers might be coming from Indiana and Kansas State."

Yesterday, McKenzie attended Vanderbilt's spring game.

"I'm just getting back from Vandy," he said on Monday evening. "I really had a great visit. Vandy has great facilities. I was very impressed with the coaching staff. I think the university hired the right head coach to make Vandy an SEC contender.

"My recruiting coach, Chris Beatty, is a great guy. He has been really high on me since day one. I feel I could go and play at Vandy as a true freshman. They want to use me in space so that I can use my speed to make plays."

Is a commitment coming soon from McKenzie?

"I'm not ready to pull the plug on recruiting just yet, but Vandy is high on my list," he said. "I just want to go through spring evaluation, visit a few more schools, and go to a few camps before I commit.

"I really like how Southern Miss, Indiana, Louisiana Tech and SMU want to use me in their offense. I'm really looking forward to my visit to Indiana. I hear they have some of the greatest facilities in the country."
