Taylor the Tackling-Machine

Over the past two years, Henry Taylor has recorded well over 200 tackles for Scotlandville, which is a 5A school located in the north Baton Rouge area.

How does the 6-0, 200-pound prospect account for his success at inside linebacker?

"I work," he succinctly stated. "I'm a hard worker; that's it. In the weight room, I have a 315-pound bench press and a 405-pound squat. My power clean is 285. I run a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash.

"Last year, I had 116 tackles with 25 tackles for loss and two sacks. I also had two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery."

Taylor is still waiting on his first scholarship offer, but he thinks it may come soon.

"North Texas is telling me they will offer at their camp," said Taylor. "I understand that their head coach doesn't think I'm that big, so they want to see me in person.

"Some of the other schools who came through during the spring were ULM, Tulane, Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, Southeastern, Prairie View and ULL.

"I like North Texas, ULL, Southeastern and Louisiana Tech the best. I'm going to try and camp at Louisiana Tech this summer."

Taylor will try to outduel another of Louisiana's best linebackers in October when Scotlandville squares off with Zachary HS and standout '13 LB Larry Cage.
