"Our last practice was Thursday and graduation was Friday," said Savage. "Our spring game is Monday. We only practiced a week and a half because so much was going on with baseball and graduation."

Despite the short spring session, several schhols were in to see the talented athlete. "Arkanas was here," Savage recalled. "Louisiana Tech was here. Mississippi State was here. Texas Tech and Texas A&M were both here. I got to meet the coach from Ole Miss when he came. Some of the other schools that came were ULL, ULM, Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Arkansas State, Clemson, Vanderbilt, and Missouri State."

Right now, my top five are Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Arkansas State, and Missouri State," noted Savage. "Missouri State is still my only offer. I think Mississippi State is the closest to offering out of the five, but those are the schools that are constantly recruiting me and I feel like I have a good relationship with all of them."

Savage talked about his relationship with some of the schools on his list. "It's important to have a good relationship with whoever is recruiting me, but that can't be all that's going on," he esplained. "Louisiana Tech is easily the closest school. Coach (Stan) Eggen and I have a strong relationship. It's an hour away. I met the whole staff when I was there. It's like a family down there. Me being comfortable; everybody being comfortable with everybody will strengthen the team."

So with so many schools showing interest, how many stops does Savage have on his summer tour? "As many as I can," he said. "I know I will visit Louisiana Tech. I'm going to Mississippi State and Missouri State for sure. I'm signed up for both the Arkansas and the Arkansas State camps."

One thing is certain, Savage is already enjoying the process. "I'm loving it," he added. "We're representing South Arkansas. Not just myself, but all of us. We think of this area as a hotbed because we are playing good football and we've won a few championships."
