"My dad (who is also Feldt's head coach) knows some of the coaches at Louisiana Tech. I'm definitely going to visit Tech. When I was at Pilot Point (Feldt subsequently transferred to Hays Consolidated), I was on a team that won a state championship with Carter Street.
"Carter is a defensive end who I know pretty good. He's a good friend. Carter loves it at Tech. He says the coaching staff is great, that it's a good atmosphere and their program is headed in the right direction."
How much do these first two offers stand out for Feldt?
"It's huge getting that first offer," he said. "Actually, the first two offers are both somewhat of a personal deal. Some schools have been slow to offer, but Houston and Tech think I'm a good player and believe I'm good enough to play on the next level.
"It's exciting. All the hard work I've done and the long hours I've put in are paying off. I've been playing my game and now the rewards are starting to come. It's been a roller coaster ride with recruiting so far."
Feldt wraps up his junior year tomorrow.
