Daniels offered by Dawgs

Kendrick Daniels, the speedster from Sulphur Springs (TX), recently pulled in an offer from Louisiana Tech. Get the latest on his recruitment...

"Louisiana Tech offered me in person," said Kendrick Daniels, the senior ('12) RB from Sulphur Springs High School. "I'm actually not sure which coach is recruiting me, but it may be the head coach (Sonny Dykes).

"Tech says they like me. They like my speed and explosiveness. They want me to come check out their campus and look around this summer, and I plan on doing that.

"My favorites right now are probably Arkansas State and SMU. Arkansas State has offered and SMU seems real close. I haven't met any of the SMU coaches in person yet. Utah is another program that is showing heavy interest.

"I really like Louisiana Tech. I expect to camp at Tech and Baylor this summer. The most important factors in my decision will be the campus environment and my relationship with the coaches."

Last year, Daniels rushed for 1,546 yards on 164 carries with 18 touchdowns. He also caught 20 passes for 210 yards and three TDs for Sulphur Springs, which posted a 9-3 mark in 2010.

What were Daniels' thoughts on the Wildcats' spring training?

"It went good and we got better, but overall I wasn't impressed with everyone's effort. We'll be hard to beat this year. I expect a better effort from my teammates once practice resumes at the end of the summer."

Daniels does well in track, having clocked a 21.6 in the 200 meters this spring.

With his size and speed, Daniels is likely to draw comparisons to former Bulldog great Phillip Livas.
