Milovale Catches Attention of Tech Coaches

Louisiana Tech signed a group of outstanding junior college offensive lineman in last year's recruiting class, and the staff has its eyes on another stellar JUCO OL in Mike Milovale.

"Louisiana Tech hasn't really offered yet," said Mike Milovale, the 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive lineman from Hartnell College. "They just said they would be interested in offering me by the time I'm done with school."

Regardless, it's clear the Bulldogs have significant interest in Milovale, who has blossomed into an imposing interior lineman on the junior college level.

"The offensive coordinator (Tony Franklin) is the coach who is recruiting me," Milovale said. "He's visited the school and also talked to me on the phone. A week ago, he asked about my bench press (355 pounds) and my squat (485).

"He asked if I would be comfortable playing left tackle for them. At the conclusion of the conversation, he told me he'd like to offer me. He said he really likes me and really likes my film.

"I didn't have any offers out of high school, so I went to Hartnell. I'm from the same area. I lived close to the school."

Fresno State, Nevada, New Mexico, Mississippi State, Louisiana-Lafayette and Cal-Poly are other programs that are showing interest in Milovale.
