Higgins visits Tech

Hutto (TX) QB Ryan Higgins made the trip to Ruston today with his father to meet with the Louisiana Tech coaching staff. Get his reaction here...

"The coaches told me they want me to be the face of their program," said Ryan Higgins. "They say I can help lead Louisiana Tech to future championships.

"Everything today (in Ruston) seemed like it was supposed to be. It was actually better than I even expected. The facilities and campus were nice. Everyone was friendly, and I felt comfortable.

"I can tell it would be easy to get accustomed to things there."

After he was shown around the school, Higgins and the staff discussed the nuts and bolts of the Bulldogs' program.

"When I got there, we took a quick tour of the campus," he said. "Then, I talked with (offensive coordinator) Coach (Tony) Franklin. We discussed how Tech's players buy in to their system.

"Coach (Mark) Tommerdahl had everything (today's itinerary) planned out. I talked with Coach (Sonny) Dykes a couple of times. He's easy to talk with..."

What's next for Higgins?

"Later this week, I'll camp at Baylor," he said. "After that, I'll possibly camp with Oklahoma State, Air Force and Tulsa.

"I'm probably going to make a decision about where to commit in the next two weeks. I need a little time to sit down and talk about things with my family and my coaches."

Memphis, in addition to Tech, has offered Higgins.
