Louisiana 3A Top 10 Rankings - Week 1

Patterson and three-star CB Trevon Stewart entered the season ranked No. 1 in 3A. Were the Lumberjacks pushed out of the top spot after not playing in week one?

    1. PATTERSON (1) -- (0-0) -- Last week, the Lumberjacks were idle after Crowley canceled due to Tropical Storm Lee. CB Trevon Stewart (Houston commit), LB Lorenzo Phillips (Florida commit) and WR Jaydrick Declouet (Houston commit) are among a slew of college prospects at Patterson, which was the state runner-up to Parkview Baptist in 2010. This week: at 5A Central Lafourche (0-1)

    2. ST. CHARLES CATHOLIC (2) -- (1-0) -- Last week, the Comets defeated Tate (Fl.), 42-0. RBs Marcus Hall (120 yards) and Lazedrick Thompson (140 yards) paved the way. Thompson is a Tulane commit. This week: at 4A Vandebilt Catholic (0-1)

    3. NOTRE DAME (5) -- (1-0) -- Last week, the Pioneers defeated 5A Southwood, 43-6. Nick Gossen ran for 100 yards on 17 carries, Luke Broussard scored two TDs, and Waylon Young threw a TD pass. This week: at 4A No. 1 Breaux Bridge (1-0)

    4. AMITE (6) -- (1-0) -- Last week, the Warriors defeated 2A St. Helena Central, 36-0. Juwaan Rogers and Reginald Porter combined for three rushing touchdowns, and A.J. Seiber tacked on another from 30 yards out. Christian Cotton also got into the scoring act by returning a blocked punt 30 yards. This week: at 5A Ponchatoula (1-0)

    5. PARKVIEW BAPTIST (3) -- (0-1) -- Last week, the Eagles lost to 5A No. 8 Mandeville, 19-16. Brody Burkhalter and Cole Wilson accounted for both of the Eagles' touchdowns. DT Tom Bove (Wofford commit) is the marquee name on PBS' defense. This week: 5A Scotlandville (1-0)

    6. LORANGER (7) -- (1-0) -- Last week, the Wolves defeated 2A Riverside Academy, 7-2. Junior Jeryl Brazil, an LSU commit, rushed for 100 yards and intercepted a pass. This week: 1A Country Day (1-0)

    7. CROWLEY (8) -- (0-0) -- Last week, the Gents were idle (Patterson game was canceled). Senior RB Davante' Bourque gained over 2,000 yards last year. He's committed to LSU. TE Kaleb Cormier reportedly has a McNeese State offer. This week: 5A Comeaux (1-0)

    8. DONALDSONVILLE (4) -- (0-1) -- Last week, the Tigers lost to 4A Assumption, 27-8. Donaldsonville - playing without injured QB Devon Breaux - scrounged together a mere 166 yards of total offense. A three-star prospect and Tulane commit, Breaux is expected to return this week. This week: at 5A No. 3 Dutchtown (1-0)

    9. WESTLAKE (10) -- (1-0) -- Last week, the Rams defeated McMain, 34-0. Senior RB Devin Eaglin gained 118 yards on 12 carries and scored two TDs. Sophomore Latrell Martin had 17 tackles. This week: at Abbeville (0-1)

    10. MARKSVILLE (NR) -- (1-0) -- Last week, the Tigers defeated 2A Bunkie, 48-6. Marksville amassed an impressive 417 yards rushing with Jake Dunbar (131 yards) and Peyton Dunbar (109 yards) leading the charge. This week: at 2A-ranked Winnfield (1-0)

    ON THE BUBBLE: East Feliciana (1-0), Jennings (1-0), E.D. White (1-0)

    DROPPED OUT: Richwood (0-1)

    OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Will Smith, Carroll (threw seven TD passes)
