Big Visitor for Tech Hoops

Alex Hamilton, the 23rd ranked shooting guard in the country by Scout.com, will visit Louisiana Tech this weekend.

Alex Hamilton calls himself a combo guard. "I am versatile," Hamilton recently told Scout.com. "Whatever the coach needs me to do, I can do."

The 6'4" Hamilton, from Chipley, Florida, has offers from all over the Southeast including: Georgia, Auburn, Vanderbilt, and Middle Tennessee.

Who is Alex hearing the most from? "Louisiana Tech, Murray State, Marshall, and Auburn," he explained. "Tech started recruiting me as soon as they were able to talk to me after the AAU nationals and showcase."

Hamilton admitted he didn't know a lot about Tech. "Karl Malone went there," he admitted was all he knew. "Brandon Gibson from Marianna is there."

"I'm looking for a team that wins," added Hamilton when asked what he is looking for in a school. "I want to be comfortable with their playing style and the education they offer."

Louisiana Tech Head Coach Mike White has hit the ground recruiting. Hamilton is a big time recruit for Tech as is Michael Qualls, who is visiting next Saturday.

Hamilton will be in attendance for the Louisiana Tech-Central Arkansas football game. He will be joined by Northwest Florida College Power Forward Demetrius Moore. The 6'8" Moore is an athletic big man that can finish around the basket.

Northwest Florida has put out a lot of talented forwards recently. Power forward Kahlil Owens signed with Morehead State last season and 6'8" Carl Hall signed with Wichita State in the 2010 fall period. Northwest Florida is coached by former Louisiana Tech and Tennessee Assistant Steve Forbes.
